This wasn't the first raid, but I didn't read any forums... not gonna follow posts made by game moderators and developers about what's coming soon, and why I should subscribe to their newsletters and such.
I'm certainly not going to read through the comments section on discussion threads, and waste my time wondering why people whine so much. Their poor grammar and barely biting remarks make me want to smack their mommies and daddies for being so reckless 14 years ago.
The only thing I knew about the Revenge Raid is, it's a competition and the winner gets something. Shouldn't be too hard to win this... my fleets are solid, I have a leviathan as a flagship in all five of my fleets now. Peacemakers and Diplomat Mortars made them heavy, but I wasn't about to upgrade my dock yet. Gotta have priorities.
I attacked a salvage and when I was done, the thing exploded. Prior to this raid, they just vanished. So I sent out my fleets to all the level 3, 4, 5 salvages I could find. They respawned extremely fast so I was gaining resources at an alarming rate. Then I noticed that my fleets were twice as fast to repair. This is great!
For the next two days, I researched everything that I could find that was expensive, and still ended up with full warehouses. Lesson learned, need to upgrade the warehouses some more. I took a quick look at the leaderboards, thinking to myself... I must be in the top 10 or something.
How bout no. I was top nothing, leader of nowhere, in the land of null. I couldnt imagine how these players had already gathered 100 million resources, when I had struggled to gather 20mil. Turns out, they were using Seawolfs and Floating Fortresses, gathering level 6, 7, 8 salvages that I hadn't even attempted yet. Repairs? They don't need no stinking repairs... facebook credits will take care of everything.
sigh. I'll be more ready next time.
